In this book, Hella Brumme and Eilike Vemmer describe the 349 rose varieties of the classes Gallica, Damascene, Alba, Zentifolien and Moosrosen in the Europa-Rosarium Sangerhausen, the most important rosarium in the world.
	Hella Brumme worked for 34 years at the Europa-Rosarium Sangerhausen, from 1999 to 2006 as senior director. Eilike Vemmer has been dealing with historical roses for more than 20 years. The two are among the most competent connoisseurs of historical roses. Over many years of work, the authors have reviewed the original historical descriptions with the varieties planted in the Rosarium and revised the descriptions. In unique panels, the class characteristics are juxtaposed. Frequent confusion stumbling around the historic roses was also investigated.
